My Role
I worked as part of a team of 5 designers.
Within the team, I combined the roles of designer and researcher, participating in all stages of the design process: communication with stakeholders, research, UX, UI, and presentation of results.
What I did:
Research
- Conducted benchmark analysis, identified main competitors, highlighted best practices in the market
- Studied trends in the restaurant business and related areas; this information helped create a new booking experience for guests and better understand staff interactions with the restaurant management system
- Conducted in-depth interviews to identify user needs/pain points. Subsequently, research insights helped us identify motivators for booking tables in restaurants
Design
- Designed prototypes together with users to identify problems in the first iterations of the interface
- Designed solutions for the guest booking experience
- Created a new visual style and typography
Tests
- Tested prototypes with users for usability to identify problems in the first iterations of the interface
Organizational Aspects
We had daily 30-minute meetings where we discussed tasks for the day and what had been done the previous day. We distributed tasks and discussed solutions, problems, and plans for the week. A couple of times a month, we had meetings with stakeholders, where I presented interim results and discussed solutions.
Project Work Process
- We formed hypotheses, conducted interviews with both frequent restaurant visitors and staff of our restaurants

- We began studying competitors and their features. Conducted competitive analysis.
